🎉 Today marks 5 years since I became partners w

🎉 Today marks 5 years since I became partners with Charlie and Graeme Parker at RE/MAX Camosun! 🚀

In 2014, when they acquired the brokerage, I was selling real estate in Nanaimo and hosting training for my colleagues at RE/MAX of Nanaimo. Soon, I was invited to do the same in Victoria. What started as a couple of days a month quickly turned into a couple of nights a week—and over 200 nights at the Laurel Point Inn, which still feels like a home away from home.

As Mandy began her Social Work Degree at UVic, we found our future in Victoria. We moved, bought a presale condo, and embraced this new chapter. In 2019, after seven years of working toward it (just ask Charlie), I became partners with Charlie and Graeme as a Broker Owner at 31. I had arrived! Then COVID-19 arrived only a few months later.

Suddenly, with my savings invested, the world came to a halt. It was a stressful time to be a new business owner, but I’m so thankful to have had Charlie and Graeme by my side. I remember pacing in my den, talking to Charlie, trying to figure out how to support our agents.

I never want to go back to that time, but it brought us closer. Now, five years later, we’re still in business, still growing, and still having fun.

To our agents: Guiding such an ambitious group isn’t easy, but you make it worth it. You pushed me to grow, and I’m so grateful for your support over these five years.

Are you consistently reviewing your list of contacts and identifying who is most likely to buy or sell?

Having a “Top Ten List” and keeping in contact with them, is an action-oriented behaviour that can protect your sales funnel.

The moment clients start looking or listing, is the moment they are most susceptible to being seduced away by a new neighbor, friend or referral.

Staying top of mind with clients doesn’t mean that you have to be pressuring them. You can offer them a mortgage broker, help them prioritize repairs to their home, or offer to save them some time by dropping off some Halloween pumpkins. 🎃

Lots of realtors pass on this exercise of identifying their top 10, because they think their top 5 are easy to identify. But the long term health of your sales funnel lies in how well you’re connecting with your top 5-10!

So don’t skip in this exercise. Update your list weekly! Be relevant, ready, and proactive with your top 10!
